Before we get going on the next camping trip of 2020, let’s take a break and visit some ordinary housekeeping things about this blog. I’ll intersperse a few fun photos/images in between the paragraphs of this short blog post.
The photo above was taken out my office window at home, facing east, on a lovely winter early evening this winter. That sky must have been reflecting a particularly stunning western sunset! Ok, now onto the bloggy stuff …
First off, if you’d like to receive a very brief email every time I create a new blog post, you can sign up for that in the upper right corner of this webpage. Simply enter your email address and click on “Subscribe”, and then follow any further directions. Just say “yes” to everything. 🙂
Secondly, comments! I love comments. Add info about things that I’ve missed or don’t know about, ask questions, tell jokes, let me know which photo is your favorite, etc. Chat with each other. It’s all good. We learn from each other this way about all sorts of things in the world.
Thirdly, who reads this blog anyway? People from more and more countries are reading along … repeat readers, not spammers. Almost my last thought to share with all of you … please share this blog with anyone you know who might enjoy it … people who are RV-ing, people who used to RV, people who want to RV, whether in a motorhome or a trailer or a tent or the back of their car … it’s all good. Ok, just one more treat for all of you. I’ve been watching online videos of canal boating and have found some really good ones. Here’s one I especially like …
It’s a narrow boat cruise on the Caledonian Canal in Scotland. My ancestry is Scottish, for the most part, and I’ve been to a few places shown in this video, so I especially love the video. I hope it brings you some fun and peace too. Interestingly, not everything shown in this obviously commercial video is strictly from the Caledonian Canal. There is video of the Eilean Donan (“Island Donan”) Castle which isn’t anywhere near the Caledonian Canal … and some lovely fly-casting on a small river … and a very brief view of a bagpiper in Glen Coe (named after the river Coe that runs through that glen/valley) … and a few other video tidbits from around Scotland. But I love this video and hope you enjoy it too.
