American School – Philippine Islands

Just one photo and a few words in this post.  I grew up in the Philippines, as some of you may have read on the “All About Ann” page.  I was messing around on the internet here at home the other day and found the photo above.  It’s the American School in the Philippines where the children of diplomats and other foreign government officials from the USA and all manner of other countries (including a few Filipino kids) went to grade school and high school in Manila.  The building in the photo above is the very building I went to school in for 5 years, from 1st grade through 5th grade.  The photo above was taken in the mid 1950s which is when I was there.  The boys in the photo are older than I was or my brother was, so we wouldn’t have known them, but those boys had to have been there the very same years that I was there.  Don’t you love the greasy hair-dos and the rolled up jeans?  And the cars are pretty cool too. 🙂
