Pacific Beach, back roads are the best

July, 2018

After my visit with the pelicans in the morning, in order to get out of the town of Pacific Shores and back up the coast to the campground, I chose to take the back roads around the edges of the town.  I was in such good spirits and just didn’t want to deal with traffic, you know?

The few vehicles that were also out on these quiet residential back roads were all going as slowly as I was.  It was a nice drive, especially with these other folks (below) who kept me company along the way …

Shortly before arriving back at the Pacific Beach campground, on a whim I took off on a side road that truly was out in the country, with not much of humanity around.  In its own good time, this peaceful, freshwater creek would find its slow, meandering way down to the wild and boisterous ocean.  But for now, it seemed to be in no more of a hurry than I was.

What a lovely day.
