Christmas 2022

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Ok, you know I’m not the original author of those words. Actually, I stole them from blog writer Dawn (thank you, Dawn ๐Ÿ˜Š). Ok, maybe Dawn didn’t write those original words either. But I bet most of you started to sing along, yes? Or at least hum a little.

One of the things I love so much about Christmas is the music. I also love classical music and instruments, so it’s a perfect blend for me. Turn your sound up for a lovely, warm French Horn rendition of the Christmas song mentioned above (by Scott Leger).

This next video is soft classical guitar, soft Christmas music. Warning … the sound level in this next video is much louder than the sound level in the video above, so you might want to turn the volume down a bit for this next video.

And if that’s not enough, here (below) is a sweet version of Greensleeeves played on a celtic harp. It’s just an audio file, no video. Make sure your sound is on, then click on the white triangle/arrow on the left side of the bar below, and be prepared to love what you hear. I hope you do love it. And yes, you can stop play of the classical guitar video above, then listen to the celtic harp below, and then go back to the classical guitar. It’s all good. ๐Ÿ™‚

Snuggle in, warm up, enjoy. Merry Christmas everyone. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, whether you live in or are from Ethiopia, Guatemala, Quรฉbec, Tokyo, Cooljarloo, Los Angeles, Nepal, Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Hungary, Qikiqtarjuaq, Mongolia, Uruguay, Norway, Zimbabwe, Hawaii, or Cebu, or maybe just right around the corner from me (all of those places are, in fact, just around the corner from all of us) … wherever you are in the world, wherever home is … I wish you peace.

I was sitting here moping, sighing, etc, wondering if there was joy, and then the notice of your blog post popped up. My mood has changed! Music makes all the difference but sometimes I forget. Thank you! This is really beautiful music. Thank you.

Merry Christmas to you! Thank you for the beautiful music. For me it feels like Christmas is already over, because our concert is done, and husband and I aren’t doing anything for Christmas…but your music reminds me there’s still plenty of holiday cheer. Thank you!

    • Ann says:

Plenty of holiday cheer!! Besides music, kid’s books about Christmas work for me too. Although a quiet Christmas can be wonderful and I sometimes like the quiet ones better. My very best to you both, Dawn.

  7. Tim in Montana says:

Merry Christmas Ann and everyone else here. We turned our house lights off and left the tree on and the other Christmas lights on and then listened to that guitar music. Really special. I had a good time finding out where all of the places you named are on the earth. Indeed, we’re all in this together. Merry Christmas everyone.

    • Ann says:

Thanks Tim. I tried your idea of turning out the lights, except for the Christmas lights, and listening to the music … amazing and so relaxing.

  8. Henry says:

Happy Christmas everyone from northern England.

  9. Dapper David says:

What beautiful music! They have all become favorites. Speaking of being just around the corner from each other, another favorite of mine is “A Putumayo World Christmas”, Christmas songs from around the world.
    Merry Christmas everyone.

    • Ann says:

David, I have that CD!! What a small world indeed. I pulled it out and played it yesterday evening, it’s wonderful. Thank you for the reminder.

  10. Cindy says:

Love the celtic harp, the fire in the background, and the french horn. Merry Christmas!

  11. Sesapa says:

I don’t celebrate Christmas, but I do wish everyone who does celebrate it a very Merry Christmas! ๐Ÿ™‚
This was beautiful music. And it was fun to look up the names of towns and countries you listed, all over the world, all just around the corner from each of us.

    • Ann says:

Thanks for the wishes, Sesapa. I had fun looking up names to include too. I’ve been to five of those places, would love to visit the others. My very best to you and yours. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Ann says:

Ha! Yep, related indeed. And friends forever. My best to you, Melly, and to that sparkly one, Marilyn. ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’•

  13. Joe says:

My dad played French Horn in high school and college and in the local community orchestra for years. The fellow in the video is really good! Thanks. Merry Christmas everyone.

    • Ann says:

I love the French Horn. Of course I never knew your dad, but I bet he was good and a great guy to have played for so many years. Best wishes, Joe, thank you.
